I need some assistance regarding colour choice for some blinds. What colour/style blinds would suit an old Queenslander style home that is currently being renovated. The outside paint job is a mild olive green colour, and the interior is based on a peach/slate colour scheme. What colour blinds would be best, and would you suggest timber blinds, or vertical, etc?
thanks

Hi Carly, Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you. Firstly you are going to need to choose a colour that suits both the exterior and interior. I think a cream or alabaster would blend nicely with the mild olive green and the peach tones you have inside. Probably best to keep the blind colour neutral to balance the room. In terms of what 'type' of blind to use, i would recommend a timber or ecowood venetian blind. These look lovely in the old Queenslander homes and they create a warm, cosy environment.

Always remember that color is one of the important elements of design. The color of the room should be related so that extremes of light and dark do not jump aggressively our from background. I think mild olive green closely relates to timber blinds. Try to blend the color value and the balance. It would certainly give you the good design. Interior Design Ideas
